UNDERSTANDING FEES
Fees & Payment
It is important that therapy is within your budget and convenient for your schedule. If you would like to embark on weekly therapy, the session fee should be manageable for you on an ongoing basis and not just several weeks so that you can make choices about treatment based on how you are feeling rather than due to budget constraints.
You will find information about services I offer, what therapy fees are for, health insurance and my fee structure below.
Descriptions of Available Services
Meet Tamara
(15 mins)
If you are interested in working with me, let's meet for an introductory chat where you can ask me any questions about the process of therapy and how I work. I will ask you a little of what is bringing you to therapy at this time, and together we can figure out whether I or one of my colleagues might be a good fit for you at this time.
Counselling & Psychotherapy
(50 mins)
My counselling and psychotherapy appointments are 50 minutes long, including time to wrap up and schedule the next session. My clients tend to see me on a weekly or fortnightly basis, on a play-it-by-ear basis around their travel, work and family schedules.
Intensive Sessions
(75 mins-3 hours)
Some clients prefer to book a one off check in or intensive session to focus on a particular hurdle. In some situations we might use this as a wellness review, to reflect and create a holistic plan of action. In some situations we dig deeper into a particular scenario to provide resolution and relief.
Introductory Zoom Call
If you are interested in working with me, drop me a note through my contact form and my administrative assistant will invite you to meet me for an introductory chat.
There is no fee for an introductory call - the purpose is to answer practical questions you may have, and it's a chance to see if we might work well together.

Understanding Fees
Therapy fees go towards professional training, business support, bank fees, taxes, membership organisation subscriptions, accreditation fees, conference tickets, clinical supervision, accountancy and other small business costs.
I appreciate that my fees are higher than many UK and Europe based practitioners and that many people are not in a position to budget for therapy at this rate. My fee structure is a reflection of my intentionally very limited private practice which has developed this way in order to provide personalised treatment planning, dedicated thought and consultation for each client alongside flexible scheduling for clients with unpredictable schedules.
There are a great many excellent therapists with varying fee structures and availability and I will always be happy to share recommendations where I can. If you enquire by email for a recommendation of another therapist, please let me know fee, location and availability preference along with any training or experience required.
Cancellation Policy
I operate a one week rescheduling and cancellation policy, which means that I will not charge any fee if you give notice of one week or more to cancel.
If you need to reschedule, I will always try to offer an alternative time before Friday of the same week, however if I am unable to, I ask for the full fee to be paid.
Private Health Insurance
I exclusively accept private pay clients and will be happy to provide referrals to therapists who work in conjunction with Health Insurance Providers wherever possible.
If your Insurance Provider agrees that you can be reimbursed directly for session fees, you may be able to use your automated payment receipt to claim. If you plan to do this, I recommend you check your policy wording, call to confirm any referral requirements and obtain pre-authorisation from them in writing before submitting your claim.
I have made this decision intentionally in order to provide discretion and privacy to my clients. When working with insurance companies, we are often required to disclose session content, provide diagnosis and depend on the insurance company to determine number of sessions. I prefer to provide a service to my clients based on their preferences and needs, without the restrictions and requirements of insurance policies.
I realise this means some clients will be unable to work with me and wherever possible I can try to provide referrals to other practitioners who are panelled with the appropriate insurance company.
